Author Good example of a "bad" dump...

2000-10-27, 3:56 pm

I don't know if the handle is supposed to clue us not to take this seriously or not, but someone using the handle "bad" posted a "dump" of 55 questions a couple of weeks ago at one of the "dump" sites. (It doesn't look like a real dump to me; looks like someone's cull of questions from other dumps, and their answer.) It contained what I thought were an unusally high number of questionable -- or flat out wrong! -- numbers. Below are the ones that jumped out at me. I'm posting them to illustrate both the pros and the cons of using dumps: if you do not know your stuff to begin with, dumps will hurt you because they will usually have wrong answers in them; but if you do know your stuff they can be a fun way of testing your knowledge by looking for the stuff that is obviously wrong.

Amen. I hope the person who posted these mis leading questions failed. A pox on them!
