| I had one question on a 486 DX2 or DX4. Actually there were very few if any detailed questions on processors. I memorized all kinds of details about the 486 to the P4 including AMD and Cyrix. In retrospect I didn't need to. Just took the exam in August. However, I'm sure there are several versions of the exam with some having more questions slanted towards CPUs. | |

| Not very much at all. And on the new A+ they are taking a lot of the older stuff out, including windows 98. | |

| Thanks for the response--
Do you know when the new one is going to be implemented?

| I heard it was going to be some time around Christmass. I am not sure though. You may want to contact Comptia and find out for sure.
- Good luck. | |

| The exam objectives were just updated end of 03 beginning of 04. There are no plans for a major update. The structure of the new exam allows for CompTIA to add new questions at any time (there are "unscored" questions on the exam). This lets CompTIA tweak the exam on the fly without having to assemble SMEs and go thru the whole beta thing. | |

| Bounce the table of contents off the exam objectives. A printout of the exam objectives should always be your first step to any certification. |
