| How was the test?
Can you give us feel of how it was..... | |

| I was well prepared for the test so I found it pretty straight forward.
I used:
Michael Meyers' All-In-On Exam Guide (5th edition)
Total Seminar's A+ Certification Practice Questions (CD-ROM)
Ed Tittel's A+ (5th Edition)
Exam Cram2 A+ Practice Questions
I was not asked a single question about resources -ie what is the IRQ for COM1... etc. etc. (strange, cause I expecting those for sure).
I did have several questions that asked me to identify whether a data transmission was full-duplex or half-duplex (which were easy IF you know those terms).
Twice... I repeat TWICE... I was asked if laser printer should be connected to a UPS (the question was phrased diffferently each time -but it was, basically, the same question).
I also had a few crazy questions that were not covered in my books. I brushed those off cause they said they were going to ask a few questions like that before the test began (they are not suppose to count).
I know I made a few errors because after the test, they gave me a sheet that told me that I missed one or more questions in certain objective areas. And they gave me 7 areas... was that for seven mistakes!? (perhaps... maybe... I don't know).
Finally, there were 80 questions. I finished them in 54 minutes, which gave me time to go over the test a second time. ie there was no time pressure.
Hope that helps. |
