I have a question. My goal is to take the A+ Certification exam. I have Mike Meyers book which is really helpful. Are there any other materials out there that will help better prepare for the exam. Also, I received a phone call from ExamForce who's connected with ExamCram informing me of a product they have that will prepare you for the A+, which costs $100. Does anyone know about this product and if it's helpful?

Anybody?

Depending of your existing knowledge on pc the use of your book and this forum and a condense study guide (avaiable free on many site including Comtia ) hold off awhile on buying remote course, you'll find that's all you need.Best of luck.

Thanks TheKnee. I appreciate your help. I am in the beginning stages, so I have a 'basic' understanding of computers. My goal is to get the proper information, so I can begin my journey of mastering computers.

I also will take advice from others if you still want to reply.

I find and maybe for others too that learning by objectives to be easier one chunck at the time and put it all together.you must have an old pc that you can rip apart and rebuild and make it work if all possible. It is easier to remember pictures than words. You know the old say (1 picture = a thousand words)something like that.

Alright if you are a newb then get yourself an old pc and crack the case on it. Follow along with mike as he walks you through his exercises. Make sure you have his lastest edition all in one guide. tear it down, build it up, troubleshoot, upgrade a buddy's pc, etc. Use the book well and this forum is all you need. Be aware that the A+ is for people with 500 hours hands on exp. I thought it used to say 6 months of exp. but i think they changed it.
