I am taking my A+ Core Hardware test on the 23erd. of this month. I have taken some practice test at a couple of sites, but would like to know if anyone knows of some good sites that have good free test. It sems like everyone out there wants money for thier practice exams. I guess if I can't find some good free ones, I'll have to pay. I have been to 780tech and a couple others. Can anyone suggest some good sites to hepl me cram, and any sites that have good stuff to prepare for test. I have Mike Myers A+, and it has been a big help, but I want some advice from people who are in the business. I would appreciate any and all help I can get. Any suggestions or advice is welcome. Thanks so much. BD in Jacksonville, Florida

go to google and type in "A+"

you'll have to sift through the usual garbage, but there is some really good stuff to help you out.

When I registered to take my tests, the company I registered through sent a fabulous disk, too. Check out the library. Ask the techs where you work if they have any study material.

And good luck.

Are you able to tell what company sent the disk? And what was on the disk? I used several before I took my A+ and when I finally took the test, ended up with a lot of printing questions.

It was Marcraft. There was a PDF file with a study guide on it, and that would have been helpful as well if I'd scheduled the exam a little further out.

I started out with some crappy study material that I can't even remember how I got, but it set my feet in the right direction. I eventually got a book from Sybex that had a disk with it as well. The book was great, the questions in the review sections asked real-world situational questions, like if this is happening, what would you look for. That required you to actually apply the knowledge to come up with the fact that you have an IRQ conflict. Use the web, ask questions, sign up for the Question-of-the-day, wherever you can find as many as you can. If something you read isn't clear, ask here or at any one of a dozen other tech-exam forums. (fora?)

And have fun with your newfound knowledge--that's really why you're seeking it.

Right?
