Author MORE FUN WITH GLOBAL GROUPS.....

2001-01-30, 4:46 am

HEY EVERYONE....!!!

I have been having a hard time trying to understand some of the fundementals of global groups, local groups etc.

I have to visualize, (not memorize) and I have to an understanding of what is going on.

I have been writing all this down and I would like to know if what I have is correct.....

Domain A. Global group called, Application Users....

Domain B. Global group another Application users Global group, and a "local group" called, Application rights...

I want Domain A, Global groups to access Domain B's, local group to do there work....

I have the Administrator in Domain B, create a one way trust. Domain B, trusts Domain A.......

Next, The administrator in Domain B, adds Application users, Domain A, to the local group, Application rights....

Then the administrator in Domain B, assigns user rights to Domain A, application rights users.......

I do believe I am starting to get a clear understanding of what is going on. I have to be able to understand the question in order to formulate an answer on the exam......

Thanks in advance for your help.....

OK

Domain B. Global group another Application users Global group, and a "local group" called, Application rights...

OK

I want Domain A, Global groups to access Domain B's, local group to do there work....

OK

I have the Administrator in Domain B, create a one way trust. Domain B, trusts Domain A.......

Looking good so far...

Next, The administrator in Domain B, adds Application users, Domain A, to the local group, Application rights....

Yes, he's almost there....

Then the administrator in Domain B, assigns user rights to Domain A, application rights users.......

Nope(jettierat hits the wall coming out of turn three and loses the Daytona 500! ), Admin in Domain B assigns user rights/permissions to the Local Group Domain B/Applications Rights. (Unless that's what you meant and had a typo. Change Domain A to Domain B and you've got it)

Hope this helps!!

HEY SPID.....

That was pretty cool, "Hits the wall at turn three and losses Daytona 500....ha ha ha

I prefer sprint cars myself......

Now what I ment in the last line was: Administrator in Domain B assigns users rights to the Application users from Domain A, so they can access and use the "Local Group" in Domain B.....

I Think I got the idea...???

Thanks again for your help SPID....
