Microsoft enforcing "nondisclosure Agreement"

| Ran across this this morning in my MCP Magazine from Microsoft. Looks like Microsoft is gonna crack down on "Dumps" check this out.....
Dear Microsoft Certified Professionals and MCP candidates:
We know that maintaining the value of the Microsoft Certified Professional credential is as important to you as it is to us. A while back, we let you know the steps we have been taking to protect the investment you are making through Microsoft certification. These steps include deployment of progressive testing technologies that discourage rote memorization of exam items, regular exam item replacement, tighter security at testing centers, and the revised exam retake policy. (For more information, please see the frequently asked questions about exam security.) As part of our ongoing effort to keep Microsoft certification strong, credible and valued, we'd like to update you now on actions we've taken since our last letter to you.
More Severe Penalty for Cheating. In the past, a candidate caught cheating on an exam was prohibited from taking Microsoft Certified Professional certification exams for six months, and the candidate lost any current certifications. According to the current policy, which became effective in June 2000, a candidate caught cheating immediately loses any current certifications the candidate holds and is permanently ineligible for any Microsoft Certified Professional certification.
Enforcement of Non-Disclosure Agreement. Since February 1998, Microsoft has required all certification candidates to accept the terms of a Non-Disclosure Agreement before taking certification exams. One way we enforce the NDA is to closely monitor Web sites suspected of publishing exam material and regularly perform searches for MCP exam content. We also follow up on leads provided by MCPs and candidates. As a result of these investigations, owners of seven Web sites were recently found to be in violation of the Non-Disclosure Agreement by publishing questions from certification exams. The site owners -- all certified individuals in Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Texas -- were immediately decertified and are now permanently ineligible for any Microsoft certification. Microsoft can take whatever legal action is justified by the facts of a case.
MCP Practice Test Provider Program. Candidates may want to assess their skills before taking an MCP exam. We recommend that candidates use practice test products developed only by Microsoft Certified Professional Practice Test Providers. These products cover the complete set of exam objectives, meet a number of other criteria established by Microsoft, and indicate that they are approved by Microsoft by displaying the MCP Practice Test Provider logo. Practice tests can supplement, but should not be a substitute for, the training and required hands-on work experience in the skills covered by the exam objectives.
Keeping exams as secure as possible helps maintain the value of Microsoft certification and ensures that only qualified information technology professionals are identified as MCPs. You can help us protect your certification investment by discouraging fellow MCPs who may be sharing exam questions or answers. If you know of Web sites or individuals who may be disclosing Microsoft certification exam information, please write to mcp@msprograms.com or call 800-636-7544. Provide as much detail as possible so that we will be able to take appropriate actions. We will investigate all credible leads.
We commend your accomplishments as an MCP and appreciate your continued support.
Very truly yours,
The Microsoft Certified Professional program team

| Thanks for posting that. It was only a matter of time. | |

| Yeah you knew it was coming, When compaines loose money they have to study why, Braindumps(good ones)have killed Test Providers and that's why they discourage you on using them and buy their products. You have to put a Fear into people and what better way right? It's with anything you have to put a warning disclaimer, just like the one you always see when you pop in your favorite movie or dvd from the video rental. Microsoft wants to allow the testing answers to be secure and not leaked out, but the real funny thing about it is they want to get a share of it and the braindumps don't provide that only the pre-determined test providers they've selected. Just like causnhavok said

| What about Transcender? I have seen questions on their tests that were word for word the same questions on my Net Essen & Workstation exam. What's that about? Are they going do shut them down? I do understand the reasoning behind Microsofts action and can agree to an extent, but the exams aren't free and for us to shell out $100 per test, plus study material, plus practice software, people want to use everything made available to them to help them out. Then again many of us are getting our MCSE by hard work , study and practice, but there are those who just study braindumps and pass. We will end up calling those individuals "BOSS" soon. I think it's a catch 22.
What's up Galaxy Gal!!!!

| I agree with you man. Transcenders is exact fact. I read a very interesting article a few months ago about Transcender vs Microsoft and it had stated something to the fact you wonder why microsoft hasn't allowed Transcenders to be an official Test prep supplier and espcially since they are tops in sales and exact questions. It also stated that you haven't seen on in print or magazines that microsoft promoted them, but if Microsoft knew what was good they'd allow that, well what do you know Transcenders is an offical test prep as promoted by microsoft.... It's all about the $$$$$$$$

| It is probably a good thing Bill Gates and Janet Reno don't get along. Or we would have the Reno Storm Troopers breaking our doors down to seize our braindumps and our computers. Kind of like the NRA bumper sticker, they can have my braindump when they take it from my bloody hand.
In reality, Microsoft has to take this stand because of the copyrights and trade secrets they want to protect. If they don't show they are making an effort to protect them, they would lose in court. But one does wonder why they are being accused of having a non-competive behavior. "You should only get your training from our approved vendors."
I guess there are some people who can go into a test and remember everything verbatim from a dump. I can't, I am lucky to remember enought to answer the test questions at hand. That's where I rely on my experience, either from training or on the job. The braindumps I have used have only helped me study the right areas. I still use many other resources, including good old Microsoft courseware. But, the brain dumps point me into a direction to study more. If I don't understand a question I look it up. It has also showed me how to spot when the test tries to trick you with things like joining a workgroup instead of a domain. Understand the test question is half the battle.
Well that's my dollar fifty worth of thought on that.
Aim High!
FreddyFlyer A+, Net+, i-Net+ and MCP x2(at least until they find out I used a braindump)
PS: CausnHavok you sure are trying to get some fire into this discussion area. Good Job!

| Yeah Freddy!!! I agree with your statement especially "when they take it from my bloody hand!!" There have been some really good points made by you & Courvoisser. It's just sad to think that you may have posted a dump to help out others like others did for you and lose your certifications and be "bannished" from microsoft forever. BUt I can understand microsoft and you do have to acknowledge the agreement on your exam!
Hey Freddyflyer! We're both from ABQ!!!!!Do you work at Kirtland? Going to school?

| I retired from AF at Kirtland in 97. I have been a full time student since then. Just finished a BS in CS from college of Santa Fe at ABQ in May. I am trying to get my certifications so I can start on a second career. Luckily my AF retirement pay is financing this mid-life crisis.
How about you?
