NT 4 Exam Extension Confirmed!!!

| I called Microsoft In the UK here today and they confirmed that NT 4 exams being retired at 31 Dec 2000, are definitely going 2 be extended.
They stated that ALL of the NT 4 exams including the electives will not be retired until end of FEB or March time next year. The actual date is going 2 be published by Thurs/Friday of this week, on the MS website.
I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing, so I got a work colleague also attempting to cram the exams in to call again and he was told exactly the same!
Best news I've had all week, but I'm still planning to do another exam next week. (Cancelled the Enterprise I was due 2 take this week - Coward). I might actually make it 2 full MCSE with TCP/IP now!
Bit pathetic of MS 2 leave it so late - better late than never!

| An article posted on mcpmag.com states that only Workstation, Server, and Enterprise would be extended. Are you sure that i will include Elective exams slated for retirement? I sure hope so! | |

| The article posted on MCPmag has no factual evidence to support it.
I called Microsoft today and spoke with Leslie. She informed me that Microsoft has heard the rumours, and that they are currently in deliberations deciding what to do.
She told me that as of yet no decision has been made, and that repercussions against MCPmag have not be ruled out.
She also stated that this has put Microsoft in a touchy predicument. If they allow the extension they loose credibility in the Industry, and if they don't they have angry students and bad publicity.
She also stated that they are expected to reach a decision by Thursday.

| I called Microsoft in the U S A and they havent extended the deadline for nt 4.0 core exams as of yet. I guess the uk has a diferent criteria. I wish theyd extend it though.......Keep studying... | |

| I talked to a Microsoft rep today and she stated that the decision will be posted on the website sometime Thursday and to keep checking. I ask here which way they were leaning toward (extending or not) and she would not give out the information. Also, Prometric did not know if the extension had been granted and told me to call Microsoft. If they do it in UK then they would do it in the US? | |

| RATNOZ(E) - sorry spelt u're name backwards! NO I'm not the Bullsh*t Artist, I called MS on Tuesday and both myself and my work colleage both got a definate YES 2 the extensions going ahead.
They encompass ALL the electives also that are due 4 retirement.
If any of u want 2 call MS in the UK the number I called is +44 800973031. I hope I wasn't mislead, 'cause then I'm seriously in the sh*t! I wouldn't have thought they'd lie 2 both of us!
Anyhow, we should have answer 2morrow!

| I just spoke to a live MS rep and he said yes they are going to extend and the details will come out tomorrow.

| It should not amaze anyone. When I scheduled my NT4 in the Enterprise test Friday they were all booked up. The best I could do was 5:15pm on the next Monday. I bet they are rolling in the money from all the late test takers. | |

| I don't think the electives will get extended. Only the 70-073, 70-067 and 70-068 will get extended. I finally got a spot for this Sunday for 70-068 (Enterprise).
Hopefully I don't fail, and if I do, I'll have to cram it before end of this year(if no extension) but if MSFT is going to extend the three exams, then I'll have to cram for Net. Essentials before this year.
Anyhow, tomorrow is the day we shall know what's MSFT's final decision...
Let's just hope extension will get granted ^_^
