Author Caldazar Question???

2000-11-17, 5:34 pm

This answer boggles me because the Chicago users will not be able to access their resources. (Sorry post is so long)The answer A must be a typo:

96. The directory service architecture of the trust relationship and placement of domain controllers for the Windows NT server network as shown in exhibit.

Caracas ----------------Chicago-----------------------Paris
__________________ | | | _______________
\/..........................................| \/
Seattle Dallas New York

Required Results:
Network lines may not be saturated with logon validations
Users from Caracas and Paris domains must access resources on Chicago domain.
Users from Chicago must access resources on Seattle, Dallas & New York.

Optional Results:
Centralized user management.
Administrators on resource domains must be able to manage access to their own resources but not those of the other cities.

Proposed Solution:
Use the single master domain model
Place user accounts in the Chicago domain. Configure all other locations as resource domains. Configure Chicago as a trusted domain and all other cities as the trusting domains.
Place the PDC and the BDC for Chicago domain in Chicago and place at least 1 BDC for the Chicago in each other cities.

Which result does the proposed solution produce?

A. The proposed solution produces the required results and produces both of the optional desired results.
B. The proposed solution produces the required results and produces only 1 of the optional desired results.
C. The proposed solution produces the required results but does not produces either the optional results.
D. The proposed solution does not produce the required results.

Answer A

The answer was "A" on my test. It already had Chicago trusting the other cities so it was right. I think that is what the lines are supposed to represent.

Pardon me I meant to say that the Paris and Caracus Users will not be able to access resources I know that the Chicago users can access resources because they are in a trusted domain. Is that corect to assume that Paris and caracus users will be stuck out of the loop?

You had it right. What I was saying was that on my test it had:

caracus<---chicago--->paris

In this case Chicago trusts paris and caracus. I think maybe he just left out the arrows.
