Author a real question?

2000-10-22, 3:06 pm

I have a question for you guys, which me and my friends cannot agree the answer. And here it is.

The directory service architecture of the trust relationship and placement of domain controllers for the Windows NT server network as shown in exhibit.

London --------Liverpool-----------Manchester
__________________ | | | _______________
\/................................| \/
Birmingham Newcastle slough

Required Results:
Network lines may not be saturated with logon validations
Users from London and Manchester domains must access resources on Liverpool domain.
Users from Liverpool must access resources on Birmingham, Newcastle & Slough.

Optional Results:
Centralized user management.
Administrators on resource domains must be able to manage access to their own resources but not those of the other cities.

Proposed Solution:
Use the single master domain model
Place user accounts in the Liverpool domain. Configure all other locations as resource domains. Configure Liverpool as a trusted domain and all other cities as the trusting domains.
Place the PDC and the BDC for Liverpool domain in Liverpool and place at least 1 BDC for the Liverpool in each other cities.

Which result does the proposed solution produce?

A. The proposed solution produces the required results and produces both of the optional desired results.
B. The proposed solution produces the required results and produces only 1 of the optional desired results.
C. The proposed solution produces the required results but does not produces either the optional results.
D. The proposed solution does not produce the required results.

I believe it should be A.
1. Network lines may not be saturated with logon validations - should be taken care of with a bdc in all remote locations.
2.Users from London and Manchester domains must access resources on Liverpool domain - with all users in the liverpool domain, and all other domains trusting it, users will have access to all domains.
3.Users from Liverpool must access resources on Birmingham, Newcastle & Slough - see #2
4.Centralized user management - all users are in the liverpool domain.
5.Administrators on resource domains must be able to manage access to their own resources but not those of the other cities. - all resource domains admin their own resources, but cant admin other domain's resources.
