| Exam 70-67 NT Server 4.0
Hi guys. I just took my NT Server exam on 30th March 2000.
I passed with a score of 966.
I had 30 questions, of which 22 that I remember are produced below in my dump.
Points to note.
1.The questions are informational only and are not word for word, but merely tell you of the questions I had.
2.I achieved 100% in all areas of the exam except Installation and Configuration, so you can note my answers below to the specific questions and areas and know them to be correct.
3.Finally, to pass the exams you need to do tons of practice papers.
Good luck and enjoy.
Rash
1.Create a home directory for a user on the BDC, how, where?
Ans: Use UNC and User Manager for Domains.
2.How do you prevent access to share in Network Neighborhood?
Ans: Use $ after share name.
3.Move file to folder on same NTFS partition.
Ans: Retain permissions.
4.Client Admin Tools on Win95, manage file permissions on remote NT Server.
Ans: Use Windows Explorer. (Not Server Manager for file permissions. Client Admin Tools give a Security tab on the Properties for files in Explorer, which is what you use.)
5.105 users each require home directory on Server. How do you go about it?
Ans: Select all users in User Manager for Domains, User/Properties/Profile and use %USERNAME% in Home Directory Connect To path.
6.Roaming user profile is mandatory for users and resides on the server. Server goes down. What happens to users who log on?
Ans: They cannot log on. (This is absolutely RIGHT. The other option was that users log on with the Default user profile. No way man. Now if it had said that users log on with the users cached profile (which is what happens in the real world), then you’re stuck for choice. Having said that, this would only be vialble for existing users who had already logged on, but new users would not be able to logon. So the question would probably say the type of user i.e. first timer/existing.)
7.RAS dialin clients use third party PPP support only. This third party software only supports DES encryption algorithm. What is the most secure way?
Ans: Use ‘Accept only encrypted authentication’.
8.When configuring GSNW on an NT Server for two Netware 3.x Servers, what do you put for the connecting path?
Ans: I put full UNC to each Netware Server and volume, but this is probably wrong. My text (Alan Carter) says for Netware 3.x Servers, just put in the name of the server. This was one of the options, so is probably right. Netware 4.x Servers require full tree and context path. I figure to be on of the Configuration questions.
9.For GSNW on NT Server what else needs to be done on network?
Ans: Always GROUP NTGATEWAY on Netware Server, with permissions to share.
10.RAS problems, users getting disconnected.
Ans: Enable logging for Device.log in registry.
11.You have 4 2Gig disks. What’s best for fault tolerance and maximizing disk space?
Ans: Disk striping with parity
12.2 SCSI disks, mirrored. What is ARC pathname on floppy Boot.ini?
Ans: As per exhibit. Basically know ARC pathnames.
13.Question on one centralized domain, three other local domains. Local workstations use NetBEUI on local domains 90% of time and TCP/IP to central 10% of time. What is best way to optimize network performance?
Ans: On WORKSTATIONS, put NetBEUI first and TCP/IP second on workstation service.
14.One server, two network cards, two subnets. TCP/IP configuration on Network cards.
Ans: Assign unique IP address to each network card.
15.Sally was promoted from Sales to Management. So she is added to the MANAGERS group. She needs to access a share, but can’t. SALES have No Access permission to the share.
Ans: Delete her from SALES
16.Installing NT over the network. Installation files shared on remote Server.
Ans: Connect to remote share from PC and run Winnt.exe. (Note never Setup.exe).
17.After creating a partition of certain size on a disk in Disk Administrator, what next?
Ans: Partition/Commit Changes now.
18.You want to install NT on a machine and want to check it will support the hardware you have. What would you use?
Ans: Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) and NT Hardware Qualifier (NTHQ)
19.Where would you put files to be replicated?
Ans: Any SUBDIRECTORY in <winnt>\system32\repl\export
20.A print device attached to an NT Server computer stops working. Several documents are waiting to print. You want to send these documents to an identical print device attached to a remote NT Server computer. How can you do this?
Ans: Modify the port properties of the failed printer and specify a new port by using the UNC name of the remote printer
20.Your network has Win95, Win3.x and WinNT 4 Servers. Your print server has the necessary printer drivers for Win3.x and WinNT 4 Server. How do you install the printer drivers for Win95? Choose 2.
Ans: Install the Win95 printer driver on the print server.
Add the printer on each Win95 PC to automatically download the driver.
21.Your network has two servers, MAIN1 and MAIN2. MAIN1 performs the backup but it lasts until 10am. How can you make sure the backup ends at 8am before employees start work?
Ans: Install second backup tape drive on MAIN2 and have this backup the workstations. Have MAIN2 backup the servers.
22.How do you backup the local registry on a PC while it is running.
Ans: Use NT Backup |
