Okay I just called Microsoft and spoke with Leslie. She informed me that Microsoft has heard this rumour, and is currently in deliberations regarding what to do about it.

Apparently they are between a rock and a hard place. If they don't go along with the rumour and extend the exam deadlines, the will have more bad publicity and many students will be outraged. If they do go along with it they will be compromising their own integrity because they gave ample warning that the exams were retiring, and they don't want a reputation of not sticking to their guns.

According to Leslie there is no indication at this time as to which direction Microsoft will go in.

They are expected to reach a decision by Thursday.

I got the info from a two different guys at microsoft yesterday. They both said that the test will be extended but they could not state as to when the new deadline was to be until thursday.

Well, I have my fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath for MS. I have a friend who emailed them and they sent back a pretty snide response about how they would not.
Like I said, I hope they extend it, even if it was only through January, but I guess we'll see tomorrow.
Here's mud in your eye!!!!!

I just called to Sylvan Prometric at 1-800-755-EXAM and they told me that I can register the NT-4.0 retiring exams till Feb. 28/01. What that means to you? I am not sure wheather we have to register the retiring exams before December 31st/00 to qualify for the expected time extension. However, there is no official anouncement from Micro$oft so far; so keep it up. Neil

PS Is this expected time extension will apply to TCPip exam too?

No the extended time will not apply to the TCP/IP test because Windows2000 doesn't need it to run. (I guess)

Tell you guys one thing though the server test is a hard on. I took it on the 12 and missed it by one question (got a 666 thats MS for you)and then I took it again on the 13 and passed with a 766.

Fog is clear now. M$ officially extended the date till Feb. 28/01 for all the 18 retiring NT 4.0 track exams. The last date to register any of these exams would also be Feb. 28/01. Here is the direct link for confirmation: http://www.microsoft.com/trainingan...ubSite=examinfo

Hope this helps.
