Author Taking the test today & Books

2000-10-05, 6:30 pm

I'm going to take my test today in about an hour. I think I'll do fine but I was wondering if anyone had any good last min questions I should run thru

Also I just ordered books to study for the 2000 test. I thought if anyone would like a good deal on books you should try http://www.booksonline.com/bookclubs/bol/tiolis.htm

I got $300 worth of books for the cost of shipping, you have to buy one other book within a year. Don't get there sets, pick the buy 3 get one free, you can get the same set and 2 other books. Its like the CD club.

I hope that helps some people

If you ge for this deal, get the set described by the company. Then you only have to buy one book over the next year instead of two. What this person is doing is a refferal scheme where she'll get three books for the price of shipping. But then you'll have to buy two books instead of one. If you're going to post something for your benefit at least be honest and up front about it. I too am a member of cbdbooksonline and i have reffered a few friends as well, but I told them up front what was involved. I recommended they get the set because it was a better deal FOR THEM.

Well eldudleson, first I was only being nice, I don't get anything for posting that! I just thought it could save some money for some people.

Just for your information: Get a Great Deal when You Join

Choose any 3 books for $1.99 each—plus one additional free book— from the more than 1,000 titles offered on this site
If you decide to take one of these offers, you simply agree to purchase 1 additional selection over the next 12 months at our Member's Prices, which are up to 50% off the Publishers' Prices. A shipping-and-handling charge is added to each shipment.

The only thing I forgot was the $1.99 per book, its still a deal, you even said you use it and refered people. I know most people are smart and can read from the site to see what they are getting.

Lesson one: Don't be mad because I know how to shop and you don't, must be a girl thing! (sorry to all the wonderful guys out there)

Lesson two: Don't assume I'm stupid I'm far from that.

Thanks for you input tho

Yes I am a member of the book club and I do not deny that they have good deals, even with their member prices.
If you read my earlier post again you'll see that I recommended that my friends order the package deal because, as I said, it was a better deal FOR THEM. Not me. And if you had read the link on the refferal program you would have seen what kind of deal it is for the new member. It's still a good deal, no doubt. But I wouldn't get on a forum like this and try to profit from it wothout being honest about it. I took the liberty to cut and paste the sections from the members referral page so you can see what I am talking about. I had to edit it because there was so much information I didn't want to put it all in here, but the main points are here. If you want to see it for yourself go back to the web site, log on, click on the "Free Books" link. Then click on the link "How This Deal Works" and read the content.
I'm not trying to throw flames, Im just letting everybody else know the truth. And there's nothing wrong with them ordering from your link, but at least tell them the truth up front.
Have a good day and good luck on the rest of your tests.

As it shows on the free books section, I would have to fill out my address etc and selections and whoever decided to buy would have to do the same. This isn't what I was doing, sorry you thought that. I'm not getting book one from anybody going to buy books from them, it wasn't want I was doing.

Here to make it easier, go to www.booksonline.com Look for the Computer books section. That is why the above link was longer, I had just put them closer to the computer section.

I'm not trying to scam anyone! I was just being nice. I'm not looking to refer people so I can get more books. I was just trying to help.

Hey Jazsy, I'm sorry if I wrongfully accused you of something you didn't do.
It appeared that you were trying to steer people along to pick their own books for a reason and that lead me to believe you were using the referral program for your own benefit.
I belive these forums should be to help each other out, not profit from them and I thought that maybe that's what your motive was.
But I do agree that they have really good deals. I got the PC Repair Kit in my order which had 4 books($150.00 value). One book I know cost $60.00 in the book store because I had just bought it the same day I found the web site. I returned it and odered from the web site and paid $22.98 total.I also checked the member prices for that same book it was $43.99. Still lower than the book store.
I'm really sorry about that and I hope you forgive me for it.
See ya and good luck on your exams.
