| The way I understand it -- Dr. Watson creates a dump/log file when an error occurs in an APPLICATION. The log file specified on the startup/shutdown window is when a SYSTEM STOP occurs. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure but I think the answer is Dr. Watson. | |

| Dr. Watson is for workstation and the start/shutdown tab is used for server | |
|
| I have a Windows 3.11 program that brings up Dr. Watson every time I close it on a Windows 4.0 Workstation. It is loged in the Application log. Dr. Watson is for applications.
System - Startup/Shutdown is for setting up a crash dump file when a system stop occurs on a server and giving it a location to be written to. It is loged in the System log. This is covered in detail on the Server exam (70-067).
