a question on the book i am using to study.
|
|
|
| I am using a rather old book to study with. It is a book by sybex. should I buy a new book? | |
|
| The Sybex book I have, MCSE:NT Workstation 4 Study Guide - Third Edition is the latest, I believe. I'm one to advocate more sources are better. I also have the NT 4 Exam Cram book and the NT 4 for Dummies. I really like the Exam Cram books, and though I'm not a fan of the Dummies series, the Workstation book is pretty straightforward.
Hit a bookstore and look through a couple other books and see what you think.
See you on the MCP side!!

| I have the book
MCSE: NT Workstation Study Guide.
I guess it iss the first one, if I read this book cover to cover, and read everything on this website, do you guys think I can pass this test? I dont really have alot of exp with NT, although I have alot with Linux and Solaris... I studied a book on network+ for 2 days and passed with a 96. I am currently signed up to take the workstation exam at 6pm this coming monday. I guess my question really is, can a competent sys admin read the old book I have, and pass this test? | |
|
| Have you taken any online free preptests? If yes, how comfortable do you feel reading those questions? There is no way for us to answer your questions. We don't know the book. We don't know how much of it you truly understand, etc... test yourself online for free and you will see how you are. Also, THOR has a great cram sheet for workstation on my site. Maybe you should cehck it out?
Good luck to you. Let us know how you do!

| well, i decided to go out and buy a new book and i ended up getting
MCSE Exam Notes: NT Workstation 4 released by sybex. I have now read the book cover to cover, and I am comfortable taking all the free tests that i could find. Although i would like to find some more tests so I would really appreciate some links... :] I have to take the test at 6 pm tomorrow evening. The only think I am really worried about right now is that I am wondering if the test is going to have simulations on it. because I have no way to install NT to do the tutorials. Does the test include simulations such as setting up a printer or changing the binding order of protocols.. or anything like that? if not, I should be ok. |
