Take a break.

If you can't stay interested in the subject matter you can't get very motivated.
If your not motivated its hard to retain what your learning.

Sounds like you might need a job change.

You stay motivated because that part of the brain that ensures you stay motivated performs that action. Otherwise you've maybe fallen foul of a simple neurosurgical procedure of the 60's that they used to perform on their outwardly aggressive inmates but that's unlikely. Money. That's the real answer. Sorry for wasting your time.

I think about how stupid I will feel, when I fix the problem, only to find out, it was bloody simple, and I have spent hours on something that should have only taken minutes.

Then I look around, make sure no one is looking, and bill the client for all the time I spent

Depends on which area you're discouraged in. sometimes it's best to break away for a bit; sometimes it works to step back and look at the big picture. sometimes you need to just take smaller steps for a while. sometimes you need to stop and think about why you started on a particular path in the first place.

I've been "preparing" for Net+ ever since I got my A+, even though for a year I wasn't working in IT. Now I am, have been for a year and a half, so it's been two and a half years since I got my A+ and I still haven't taken NEt+. BUT--I've been learning many other things along the way that will set me on the path to a couple of other certs, like LInux and Citrix; AND I've also had to make progress in non-professional areas of my life which had to pre-empt my study but which were, at the times, the most important things to do. Life doesn't "get in the way" of other things; your life consists of more than just the pursuit of certifications, and you apply yourself most ardently to those things that most need your attention right now.

I hear they have filling stations conveniently located on most corners, or here in the US in most strip malls.

I emailed him about a week back now and he said that registrar had screwed up the domain renewal, so hopefully all will be back up soon.

Football terrace tea flavoured hot water if I remember correctly.

Though with the way football has changed , I would assume that there are more cappuccino and espresso drinkers these days.

Could you PM Daves Email to me? I tried to register HOOLIGAN as a username a while back and my spamblocker destroyed the confirmation Email.
