I'm here, or back as well. I was never a very active member in regards to posts before, but always found something useful here in just following the conversation. I hope to contribute more in the future.

surely it would be great to reintroduce the search faility on the forum to bring back/introduce business to the site.

a lot of forums don't like the same qustion asked twice and lock threads/ban users who don't search the forums for the info first. people who visit these kinds of forums will attept to do a search first.
