Win98 SE

Problem: I can access the whole network, files, etc. But accessing the internet has been impossible. I've tried just about everything. Any ideas?

Thanks.

upgrade to XP.

Are you using any kind of Proxy server on the network to access the internet?

No proxy at all. And I guess you're right. We should upgrade to XP indeed. What I think at this point is that it could be a nic card issue even though we able to access the network.

One other thing. Could it be the fact that I also have NetBUI and TCP/IP?? Should I get rid of NetBUI and leave TCP/IP as the only protocol?

have you try tracing route to some internet public IP and see where is it stopping? (eg tracert -d 1.1.1.1). Try doing nslookup etc and see if your PC have name resolution problem.

If you are 100% sure that your pc is not using NETBUI for accessing local network etc, then yes disable it
