Is examnotes dying?

| Is examnotes dying? Many of my hardware/software questions i post never get answered, and there aren't very many interesting threads...
Most of the people on here are helpful, there just aren't very many people!
And then this "adults only" forum? Examnotes has hit an all time low! We already see enough stuff in TV and music... now on examnotes?!
Maybe adding some new sections such as "software", "Palm computing", "gaming", or "networking" would attract more people to the forums?

| Good suggestions! I do find that I use 2-3 different certification sites to glean off the good stuff. No one site can have everything all the time.
However, I'm at a quasi-beginner level, so more would probably interest me.
As for the adult forum..well, note that the fighting has taken precedence over the sexy pics. I'd say both are equally testosterone laden activities.

| The adults only forum was added to take away all that sh!t from the General Discussion forum. However because there is no MOD there it seems to have become a war zone. | |

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
enforcer, I'm glad to see the fighting in the adult forum. I was getting tired of wading through it elsewhere to find technical threads. I say keep it w/o a mod & let them have at it!

| *edit
maybe we need a flaming only forum

| ??????
Not sure what you mean. Oh well.
Time for me to get back to my DNS studies.
Oh....BTW, what would you say if I posted in the "why I LOVE women.." thread.
| Joelacrane 2005-04-20, 4:28 pm |
| I wouldn't reply cuz i dont really talk to women that love other women.
lol just kidding | |
| sandy7000 2005-04-21, 1:15 am |
| Hey!! No fair editing your posts.
I love lots of women; my mother, my sister, my niece, etc. To what were you referring?
Anyway....I'm pulling your thread off kilter. Talk you later in the fora.
| Joelacrane 2005-04-21, 12:41 pm |
| Lol i knew what you meant!
And editing posts is fun! it makes everyone else on the thread LOOK and BE very confused. And whats "the fora"?
Anyways... Mods? How about these new forum sections?

Us mere Mods have no control over new forums. The only person that does is Webmaster (Dimitri). Good luck trying to get hold of him
However for what is worth, I think you are likely to see those, as this is predominately a Certification forum, and they aren't really cert based.
The Adult was created to move the off topic non cert based chat/posts away from General and the other forums.

| Freak uses "fora" (plural) for forums. I assumed he was right as he has a master's in linguistics. Made sense also as in "flora & fauna".
Call me a lemming.. | |

| It seems to me that it's not only the board that's having low turnouts, but all IT boards. Unless I'm missing something of course! Anyway, it's a good thing you didn't post this over on IC or your thread would have gotten locked. I was asking a legitimate question, wondering where everyone is? Wonder if the IT field is slowing? People getting other jobs or something?

| Well, idk the electronics market seems kinda flooded right now. Well... idk i just kinda think it is. is it true? | |

| If examnotes is dying then you may need to contact an expert computer technician to further assist you with
the issue. Your computer manufacturer may be able to help you too.
| acruth7284 2005-04-26, 2:07 am |
| In case you all can't tell, chris is trying out for a spot on the AOL tech team. I really can't say that the IT field is slowing down but I have noticed a shift in the ages. I see alot of older people (40ish) going back to college and trying to break into the IT field. Not sure if I really agree with this since most seem to be past their learning prime. | |

| Aol tech support? so... why is he posting all this stuff everywhere? | |

Coz he's a Certified Jackass.
But hey at least he's our jackass

| Well it certainly isn't what it was. I think the cancer of this forum and what turns people away are on the constant, and I mean constant, posts by idiot scammers from Abu Dhabi and so forth who can't speak proper english or complete sentences are just here pimping their horrible, nonsense braindump sites. I wish someone could be done about this as there are few cert communities that I am even aware of. I also made a post about this before I found this one.

| I get it now, i went and read the AOL thread...
Yeah, i am sick of misplligs, bAd gramer.
And the spamming has been bad, i noticed a ton of "Free ipod!" or "Free laptop!" things everywhere. If i had seen ONE of those threads, i might have thought it was legitimate, like someone had found a cool deal and was just telling us about it...
Have the mods been removing the users/threads? Or do they have the power to remove users?

To answer your question, yes it's dying. Err, let me rephrase that: It's been dead for months. This board used to be my and a lot of people's favorite hangout, but there are so few people left around here and all us 'old-timers' (not in age but long time members. ) no longer want to post here much. I miss the old EN days.

The mods for the most do not have power of deletion or the banning of users. We can eit posts, move threads and merge threads.
one or two can delete but only in the forum they are Mods in.

What I'm saying is, it's not just this site - other IT sites seem to be like this too!

| Look around everybody.
I've been browsing.
There's hardly a website around these days trying to develop a club of its own by adding a forum here and/ or there.
Like Waldo is pointing out with Techexams.net which I have tried but very much like the delivery EN gives in its e-mail alerting.
If I myself find one that does it like EN does, I may have to emigrate, which won't really matter cos I haven't been round here for that long anyway.

| The reasons why Examnotes is dead,
1, it has links to braindump sites, pissed off a lot of good EN members like pavlov ( had to sell out Dmitri didnt you ).
2, Because of dump sites, certs are now little more then useless for finding a job, ( without experience ).
3, Too many members complaining about the general forum not having enough tech threads. ( I came to this site to get a break from tech stuff.)
4, I no longer post here,
| HOOLIGAN 2005-05-05, 1:57 am |
| Ok well the last point was a bit of a fib | |
| enforcer 2005-05-05, 5:49 am |

In the US trashcans don't look like that. Is that what they look like in the UK?
Our trashcans are round, larger in diameter, shorter in height (so everyone can reach them--so as not to be discriminatory against short people or people in wheelchairs); and, for the most part, empty.
Nobody in the US can hit the trash cans from six inches away.

| Well, that would work for some people.
I think what they need to do is put vacuum vents where the building meets the sidewalk. With all the change and bills people drop, that would pay for the operation of the vacuum vents and keep the sidewalks clean as well; as long as you have someone willing to go through all the stuff to retrieve the money from the trash.
