| Hi There...
I am still getting the following error message appeared on a blue screen of death despite upgrading the BIOS and adding more RAM (Total = 392 MB ) to my computer : 14.87 GB free space on the Hard Disk, O.S is Win 2000 Prof. SP4 , 933 MHZ Intel Pentium III This frequent and continual problem is extremely annoying to say the least

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete, Contact your system admin. or technical support group.
I tried to analyse Memory. dump file ( Kernel or small dump ) using a debugged file in order to know the root of the problem, but no success.
Any idea, suggestion would be very much appreciated!! In fact you deserve The Nobel Price if you solve this problem!!!
Thanks

| Microsoft
The BSOD or the memory dump has to reference a driver or a file. Do a google search for the driver that is listed, and that's the source of your problem. Get an updated driver from the manufacturer's website.

I have run Memtest 86 V3.2 program and no memory errors were found. I have download and run a Microsoft Hotfix program but doesn’t fix the problem. No faulty hardwares were found either.
The BSOD problem often happens when I log off or trying to log on again to AOL 9 Broadband when line disconnect occurs. This happens about 5 – 10 minutes after logging in (If I am stay inactive online– Timeout Factor) thereafter the connection is interrupted and then lost. If these disconnection events repeat 2 or 3 times the computer crash and the Blue Screen of Death appears…Despite that I can not spot the source (driver, device…) of the problem. How to find it

| AOL, now there's your problem.
could be the ADSL/Cable modem drivers

| Definitely sounds like a driver issue, but may be a hardware compatability issue. Go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/hcl
and make sure that your hardware is compatable.
Another thought, what was the last thing that you added to the system before it started to blue screen? Was it a new piece of hardware, or a new program? Maybe you have a conflict. I would de-install any of the latest additions.
Also, I would re-apply SP4 just for grins. I have seen basic Microsoft drivers get overlaid with "updated versions" that don't work correctly.
Good luck! | |

| Sounds like you have a bad or incompatible memory chip.
If you added memory to your computer recently, try removing it and restore to your original configuration.

| The Internet disconnection problem is due to BT ADSL Modem. Both my laptop and desktop computers have the same problem when using AOL.9 Broadband program.
However, only the desktop computer crashes with BSOD when connection to the Internet interrupts or signing on and off few times.
I have checked 106 installed drivers using DriversMAGIC program and all working fine.
Again, no Memory errors were found before and after adding 256 MB RAM. No hardware problems and all been included in the HCL.
It could be sort of conflict as suggested above. I wish I knew

| Have you contacted AOL? Surely this isn't the first time they encountered this problem with their program.
Try using an earlier version to see if that helps.

| I made 31 Tel. calls to AOL since Jan 05, but they could not solve the problem. So I am leaving AOL soon. I might be the end of my suffering!! | |

| You'll find that when you go to any tech support other than AOL for an AOL-based problem, the tech support person will tell you that AOL IS the problem.
If it's an AOL based problem, dump AOL--it's not like they're the only game in town. Broadband has become widely available from much more reliable sources.

| A Brit using AOL... now that is ironic(not the Canadian Alanis Morriset version of ironic either) | |

| I cannot believe there are people who still use it! I know people who tried to upgrade to a newer version and it hosed their systems, then they couldn't uninstall at all; had to reformat and everything. And yet my sister went BACK to them! | |

| Anyone knows how to debug /decode a dump file (binary file). I need a file, which I can open this dump file (minidump or kernel)with in order to read it and analyse it. Where I can find such tool any idea?? | |

Go to Microsoft's site and search on "debugging". The one I use is WINDBG. You'll also want to download the symbols for your OS. Keep in mind, though, debugging really *is* rocket surgery.
Are the stop codes always the same, or do you get (for instance) STOP 0xA or STOP 0x50, etc mixed in with that? If so, it's probably memory, though it may also be processor or motherboard. Keep in mind that some memory testing software isn't as good as other software. Also, some memory doesn't play nicely with other memory, even if it's the same part number. If you suspect memory, take out all but one stick or use /MAXMEM in BOOT.INI to simulate this.
If it's always crashing in the same driver, then I'd say you have a buggy driver. You'll just have to uninstall and use a different version. Or ditch AOL.

| Thanks Afalbrig for the reply
Yes, the stop code is always starts with 0x0000001E and started when I upgraded to AOL broadband. Anyway, I have ditched AOL already. It might solve my problem as you mentioned.
I would let you know and indeed all this site users if I manage to solve it.
thanks again | |
