D-link 704p router
|
|
|
| Hi!
is there a way to disable the logging in this router?
thx | |

| Yeah turn the router off. Just of curiousity, why are you trying to do that?
Anyways, I never used that specific model, but I do know that the DLINK routers I have used all had a LOG page under the status tab, from there you could access the logging settings.

bummer... I wonder why they left it out of that one. I have access to three other types DLINK routers and they all have the ability to turn off the logging.

Try resetting it to the factory defaults(which I assume will clear the logs too) and see if the problem goes away. Of course that is if your story is true.
What kind of connection are you on though?
|
| it will clear it only temporary...
i need to really dissable it...

Well what I am getting at is this, if you are in fact truly having internet connection problems, then by clearing out the log files(by resetting it) you could check to see if that is in fact the problem. Even if it doesn't the solve the problem, it could still be used to verify it is the problem. You also didn't mention what kind of connection you have. cable? dsl? wireles? cup and string?
I smell fish. | |

| If the log file is getting full, then there is probably a load of error messages being produced. Therefore it might be worthwhile analyzing those logs to find out what the problem is.
