Report this post to a moderator - Newbies please read

| At the bottom of all posts there is a link called "Report this post to a Moderator", this is to allow users to inform a Moderator of a post which is possible offensive, rude, promoting illegal activities or just generally contravenes Forum Policy.
Please feel free to use it for such.
HOWEVER!!!!
DO NOT USE IT TO CONTACT A MODERATOR TO ASK FOR HELP!!!
If you want help post a new thread, if you really want to contact someone personally use the PM facility, although if you are asking for help it is best to put it in the forum as you have more chance of someone who can help you reading it.

| I disagree with gat0r's statement.
Freak was responding to a possible warez trader much like any one of us would.
Getting back on subject, I do have a problem with "Report to moderator" function. There are riddles of spam, warez requests, and what not here and there.
I've tried the "report to moderator" for those stupid altitcert.killer.whatever posts, but they never go away. Those accounts are still there, posting spam every two weeks or so.
What good is a "Report to moderator" function if nothing is enforced? | |

feel free to report me to the webmaster and owner of this site. Do tell him that I indeed do not tolerate posts that relate to braincramps and other assorted attempts at dealing stolen copyrighted content on his site, which makes him partially responsible for the exchange in question, unless he shows due diligence in educating his users that such behavior is not accepted... which is exactly what I was doing. You have a problem with that, do talk to Dmitri about it. By all means. | |

| ok how is this for a calm response.
I dont see how some people can get on a moral tirade and then not feel like hypocrites when this site sends out this cheatexam spam and buy this or that studyguide, etc. Heck, i can probably buy a college diploma from one of these links here on the left. leave all this moral crap at chruch man, doesnt just seeing all the spam and cheaters make you feel superior enough? you have to convert everyone too? | |

| I don't want to convert those who sell their integrity one test at a time.
I do want to show the other side of the coin to those new to the industry who come in and see the level of cheating that exists, and tell them that it is not the right way to go about learning the material they will need to be professionals in this industry. That's my goal. I do not run this site and I am not responsible for the advertising content on it. BTW, I run my own site, one that turns down the big dollars available from such advertisers. I don't blame those who take it. I just don't want it personally.
As for the issue you reported, there are legal ramifications at hand that threaten this site and its owner. If you don't understand that, and you are not ready to abide by the terms of this site, then you need to think about why you are really here.
We do share. We share support, technical information, answers to questions asked. That's why I am here. We do not condone braincramps and other warez traders.
And we certainly do not support or accept people like you and that other thief in the thread you pointed to, who seem to think that it is OK to ignore rules and be rude to other members in the process. Do you finally get that? | |

He is not "my boy". Your attitude is wrong, and your tone is wrong.
And I tend to be quite courteous until someone steps out of line and needs to be spoken to in harsher tones.
It's fine that you don't know me. I don't expect you to. But if you look around for a little bit you will see that I am usually a lot more involved in helping out other posters and congratulating them on their success. I don't hold grudges either. | |

I don't pretend anything. I just reacted to the written words that you chose to gratify us with. Some of them were helpful, but most of them were rude and out of line. You chose to throw your weight behind the wrong poster. It happens. As I said, I don't hold grudges. I think you have knowledge that could be helpful to many on this forum. You have some certs and some expertise that I do not have, I would frankly be a lot more interested in reading your posts on those topics than I am in having to act like a school teacher with a bunch of early adolescents. | |

| I believe in putting an end to this sort of silliness early on, because from a legal standpoint, allowing it to go through is not showing the due diligence I was mentioning.
And if you look at the rest of his posts, he is clearly deserving of the written whooping he received. The man is devoid of honesty and integrity, and he tries to make peace with it by using tired cliches. Sorry if I don't buy it and if I want to protect the forum from people like that, but I will do it everytime it comes up, on this and other fora.
As I said, I look forward to reading your posts when they involve technical knowledge more than moderating techniques. I have been a mod on this site for a long time. If I was out of line as much as some believe, I would have been fired a long time ago. Heck, I do it for free for Pete's sake... | |
