| My connection to AOL 9.0 Broadband Silver keep interrupting me every 10 minutes or so and log me off when the connection is idle (e.g. when I am not opening new web page). This has been happening since last Friday and it is driving me mad!! It was working fine since I upgraded to Broadband 2 months ago. My O.S is Win 2000 Prof.
The AOL IT support could not solve the problem and every time I call they (countless calls) come up with new suggestion despite the fact that I think they might set The Connection Idle time Limit. I have tried the following:
Disable the Mcafee V 4.5 Firewall
Repair the AOL connectivity services program
Turn off the Power Management
AOL disconnecting Auto Fix, Computer Check & AOL Broadband Check
Check the physical connections to Modem (BT Voyager 105), Filters…etc
Install AOL 9.0 on my lap top computer, which has no Firewall software installed
I was told that opening a Messenger program and keep chatting online would solve the problem, but this is not a good and permanent way to solve it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? What else I coul do to solve this problem. Please help.
Many Thanks | |
