| Hey all, i have a system that will randomly go into Stand By mode, I have no idea why, I checked the Power settings and BIOS & drivers, everything seems cool.. Its a Windows XP box.. Anyone have similar problems / fix's? | |

| I have had problems with XP slipping into either suspend or hibernation mode randomly. It is caused by corruption of the OS. Sometimes running repair will resolve it, sometimes it doesn't. Good luck. | |

| I have had problems with XP going into suspend mode and not coming out of it. On the 4 computers that happened to, I flashed the BIOS with the latest release and it fixed the problem.
Hope that helps. | |

Yeah, I'm not too sure about MS's direction into putting hibernation & stand by in control of XP rather than the BIOS/hardware. They try too hard to control everything.
I would prefer to have an option between the two extremes. |
