i noticed a lot of members have December 31, 1969 in their profiles as their birthdays....i was wondering why so many people are using this specific date...or does this website default to that date for some people for some reason. does anybody know or wonder about this also?

lol

Hey, enforcer, there's GOT to be a punch line in this thread SOMEwhere.

Software written 33 years ago and still in use today?

That's the punchline here.

Before it was used in Java, it was used as the UNIX epoch. You'll notice that UNIX time is the time since January 1, 1970.

(From Supertech's post in the link.)

quote:
To keep track of time, Java counts the number of milliseconds from the start of January 1, 1970. This means, for example, that January 2, 1970, began 86,400,000 milliseconds later.

Is this like "GetTickCount" in WinBatch?

Confusion says : Watch out if it's a lifetime warranty.

because when it goes wrong it will kill you.

Hope you haven't seen I,robot then.

I wouldn't want you to suffer so leave it there and don't see the film.

For those of you who have read the book and were hoping for a faithful adaptation then stay well away.

Besides the title and the three laws, that is all the film has in common with the excellent book.

Pity really. Will Smith isn't annoying at all either!

I saw enough of the trailers to come to a similar conclusion.

and I haven't even read the book

Forget the movie & play the old arcade game instead.

I see that as usual, we aren't sticking to the subject. I saw I, Robot recently, and thought it was outstanding! I throughly enjoyed it. Maybe, It's just because I like all of these new film concepts(I think that these special effects guys deserve GOLD medals).

I say new film concepts, did the scene with the robots climbing all over the car remind anyone of Ray Harryhausen's skeletons from Jason & The Argonauts.

My birthday has defaulted to Dec 1969, and I'm 35 years old too!
You bet, its a good vintage.

You're getting some good one liners in, Pete.

Dee, cheers to being 35. You're young enough to want to but old enough to know (& do) better.

Hi KiwiPete

OK, I see your point. I didn't realise that it was a re-make of a fab book.
You noticed the advertising, which I had forgotten about.

I'm not about to forget the shower scene, though, am I?

No, that's not my site. I wish I was as funny as that. Actually, I haven't even seen the movie & probably won't bother.

That site is one of my favourites. Very opinionated & very funny.

Something to offend everyone. Have a look through the other topics & read his hate mail.
