Hi,

does anyone know of any hobbyist electronics sites please?

What I'm looking for specifially is a circuit diagram for a voltage/current generator...

the sort of this that's used in those muscle-tension devices for toning muscles without the exercise (yes I know they don't work...I want it for something else).

Regards
Peter

Take a butchers at the Maplin website. They have hobby kits and also have some good books for the electronics hobbyist.

Also have a browse around WHSmiths for some of the electronics magazines that are published.

This one does all muscles at once, though you might want to play around with the Amp levels a bit.
