I am thinking about buying an Xbox system. I have had a PS2 and even an xbox before, but I've gotten tired of them and sold both. There are some new sports games out (and xbox live) that look sweet and PC sports games either suck or are non existant. That is really all I play - sports games.

The thing is, and I don't know why - but for some reason consoles don't look good on my TV. It looks jaggy, like there is no Anti-aliasing. Now, I have a good TV; that isn't a problem. I have a Sanyo 32-inch TV. And I have also tried good monster S-Video cables, but the same thing. It is only with games. Anyone have an idea why? If I buy an Xbox again I want it to look good.

I have the same problem. Remember the resolution on a TV is MUCH lower then a computer monitor.

I have my PS2 hooked up to my 50 inch... the picture may be a little "jumpy" but I love playing Madden n it!!! I too only play sports games. I cannot wait for Madden 2005!!!!

Let me know if you get a PS2 (again) and want a friendly game of Madden or B Ball online.

So it's normal for games to look like crap on a TV?? It is really noticable to me.

I think it is.... I have a Sony (Very good) 32 inch and it was noticeable. Now a 50 inch and it is even more noticeable. What is the resolution on a TV???? Isn't it something like 4xx X 6xx?

Is that 50inch an HDTV?

No sir.... The big one is not the best... just big

Since the resolution on a HDTV is much better, maybe if you use an XBOX on an HDTV with the Xbox High Dev AV Pack you will see significant improvement.

You have more than one? I will keep that in mind. I haven't decided if I want it soon or to wait a little while.

I think saying that the Xbox is "so superior" to the PS2 is quite a stretch. Both are great consoles. I own them both and there is very little difference on some games. Some games look better on one console, while others look better on the other. They are definitely the two systems to own in this console generation, and I bet that it'll come down to Sony & MS fighting for #1 when the new consoles are released!
I for one can't wait!
