Author demoting DC that Xchnge 2k is on

I have to rename my DC, and in order to do that, I have to demote the DC back to a member server. Also, Xchnge 2k server is on the DC. Do I have to uninstall Exhange 2k server before I demote the DC to a member server so that I can change the name of the server?
