Help with accessing applications

| I'm the first to say that I'm not much of a windows administrator and I'm just helping out with this situation as I can.
The scenario is this:
Windows SBS2k3 and 5 workstations. I need to add an application to each of the 5 workstations and let the user have use of that application. I think that the user has to be an admin of the workstation, but even when I add them to the admin group of the workstation and install the application under their profile and then logon to the domain, that application is unavailable to them. If I try to use the application logged onto the workstation, under their profile, everything is good. I don't want to implement any group policies (if I don't have to) because I don't know enough about it at this time. Is there any way that this can be done without adding the user to the domain admins group?
Thanks for your help. | |

| Not sure if I can help, but I'll try.
1) What is the os of the workstations?
2) Do you use local or roaming profiles?
If the os is xp, there's a runas option I'll try to get more info on.
P.S. Permissions w/ XP usually default to the most restrictive, but I'm not as familiar w/ Server 2003 permissions. I'll do some checking & come back. |
