No, I was referring to "Euro 2004," where a bunch of Europeans beat the crap out of each other because they ran out of Guinness.

Unbelievable!!.
Though no fluke, I mean they beat Portugal twice, the holders France and the Czechs. I guess its a case of a better team beating a team of better players.

Indeed, the sum of the whole greater than the sum of the individual parts.

The Greeks were the rank outsiders in this so I am told. So I think they really do need congrats and all that. I'm afraid I leave this all to the wife as the UK addiction to football leaves me cold.

Sadly the whole country went alternatively ga-ga and drunk for a couple of weeks prior to seeing our rear ends being royally kicked out. You could not drive down a road without running over mountains of silly flags that had fallen off cars when the brat in the back wound the window down.

Does anyone actually realise that the patron Saint of England, St George, was in actual fact a French Noble. I thought not, we get to look sillier by the day. I think we should pick a new patron saint, how about Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. About as historically accurate as St George and smells of fish, like most of the unwashed on the British football terraces.

Beckham (one of our so-called elite players) I'm told blamed everyone but himself and now looks, after his comment about his Madrid team and training, to have cut his value substantially as they want rid of him. He says he had a secret injury (his brain perhaps), so why did the Swedish turnip play him? Publicity, can't not play the tatooed clown? Somebodies elses fault anyway not allegedly Mr Beckham or the Swede.

So who wants to buy a whinging football that has been with a female stick insect and her vile family hung round his neck like dope on a rope. And talking of the footballers wife Victoria, she appears to have put her career (???? ha) on hold and a publicity tour of the US to spend more time with her family. Since most Americans don't know who the hell they/she are/is anyway I don't suppose it will matter. To the U.S. that is.

When will that talentless trout realises that she is just a footballers wife with an alleged habit of shoving exotic "spices" up her nose (how do you keep so thin - ask self confessed drug addict Naiome Campbell - things go better with "coke" - allegedly) and that is it, nothing more. Still I suppose we have the rest of the Summer (the silly season for UK papers) to endure the tabloids giving the Beckham clan a drubbing.

I'm more amused by her hospital visits. Prior to the birth of both her brats she allegedly visited the private Pxxxxxxd Hospital to have her breast implants removed. After they were born she went back to have them allegedly put back in again. Infact she was so pleased with the job she allegedly had her mother and sister done as well.

Of course you know who paid, so we have the marvellous prospect of David ensuring that his aged mother in law (the one who looks after the brats) keeps up a silicone front together with his sister in law who is allegedly never off the phone to the papers oiling the publicity machine.

Only problem was when she was in along comes the chappy who takes blood from you (phlebotanist) who lets slip that he does not know her from Adam....or Eve. Said talentless trout goes off her rocker and allegedly tries to get him fired because he does not know who she is! Err a footballers wife maybe, has been, ex-Mice Girl.

Still that is where the UK has sunk to these days with large nubers of semi-naked drunken British beer bellies roaming the streets of European cities looking for fights and proclaiming a French Noble, his flag, a tatooed dimwit and football has been with the three silicone breasted riders of the apocolypse as the loves of their lives.

Oh by the way this is all just gossip you know the sort of tittle tattle that keeps Britain running but is patently and absaloutley untrue and not worth the paper its written on.....allegedly! Have him flogged, nail him up that's what I say, nothing wrong with a good crucifiction!

And now for some real sport, motorcycle racing.

There is a lesson to be learned in this one. Though it will fall on deaf ears, I predict England will never win a major football trophy ever again. With the exception of Argentina in 2002 when have England ever beaten a team rated better then themselves?

Oh well at least I can sit back and enjoy Copa America.
me? I dunno...

I must admit I dont know very much about football (soccer), but I do enjoy the part where somebody from the crowd gets to run on the field, get chased down and then beaten up by the players...

what exactly is that part called?

they should have it at least a couple of times a game.

seriously, why do they get so mad?

They are out of their heads on alcohol and any other substance they can stuff down their throats. They are called football supporters in England. Everywhere else just rubbish!

hmmn... I wonder if it wouldnt be prudent to sign them to huge contracts and turn them into celebrities?

they could be supplied (one by each team) an assigned 'designated victim' status. limit one run per side per half...

congrats to the Greeks, great job! They deserve it. They may not have the best team, but they have the best team when it counts, and that's all that matters.

What an excellent idea, how inventive far more entertaining than my idea of setting up machine gun posts at each corner of the field and panning the bastards when they ran on.

I realise now that the flaw in my idea was that alot of collateral damage such as players, playing officials, team members and other suppoters down in the front row could be caught. Mind you it might appeal to all you Americans because I know how much you pride yourselves in targetting one thing and hitting everything else instead.

Still would it matter, its only football. I gather in the end by the way they had to get Portugese Military NATO assigned troops out to quell some of the violence when some naughty little tinker ran off with 12,500 Greek fans destined tickets. I wonder in EUFA nicked them then, that man "buy a vote" Blatter again. As I said the "Ugly Game".

That pitch inavader bloke did look a bit stupid when he dived into the goal netting. In fact it looked quite painful. I'm sure the Lisbon police treated him very... er, sympathetically.

Done it many times myself before picking em up throwing them into the back of the van and driving them off to the nick. All is fair in love, war and football supporting!
