Are you referring to the way they played in the second half or the fact they lost against France?

I went to watch the game in a Bar on International drive, the place was packed full of Engish on their hols. They charged $30 at the door, which was a total rip off, but I grudgingly paid it ( though I got a 'free' beer with that ). There was a storm and the Satellite signal was lost right before Zidanes free kick. There was much grumbling but still there was a party mood about the place. Then the news came via cell phones that it was one one , then two one. And the mood turned really ugly. The manager made an announcement that the Soccer game was over and the bar was closing, to which someone yelled "Its Football you F****** Twat!". Well, needless to say I thought it was going to kick off big time so I found a good spot out of the way and sat back with my pint to watch the entertainment. Threats were issued,A couple of chairs were thrown, then the Police came and took several offenders away. But everyone was still irrate. In the end I think the Police told the Bar to give everyone their money back so everyone calmed down. Yes, it was a shame we lost but at least I had the pleasure of seeing the price gouging git of an owner having to hand back all the takings as the piss was gently taken as we left the building.

The match sparked ugly scenes in my local pub as well.

When Engerland lost, some muppet throw a bottle at the screen; it bounced and hit an off duty barmaid; her husband twatted the prepetrator; the perp's brothers joined in; the perp's father-in-law twatted anyone in range. And all because of a "game" of football. Luckily, the Scouse boys left well alone otherwise there would have been more bloodshed. It all went off again outside the pub as the manager chucked out the perp.

So while our "fans" in Portugal are behaving themselves - I hope, it's the so called "fans" at home who are doing more than enough damage to the beautiful game. I am already fearing the worst if we lose out in the group stages.

They are still in the UK and are still going to cause problems.

Giving the three barmaids and owner abuse because the signal was lost due to a thunderstorm isn't very brave now is it? Besides that I didn't want to spend a night being Bubba's love toy at 33rd street.

However had it had been full of Freaks friends singing La Marseillaise....

They were a tad unlucky at the end I must admit. That said the French had the more of the chances in the game as a whole. Couldn't quite figure why Sven replaced Rooney with that donkey Heskey though.

Anyways Sweden are winning 4-0...

I agree with you on Heskey, he gave away that free kick ( I didnt see the incident ) I mean no wonder Liverpool got rid of him. In fact the whole Liverpool contribution was a BIG disappointment.

Not that you are bitter about the whole thing!

Did you see or read about the riots in the centre of Birmingham after the match?

A lot of unhappy "fans" stormed the streets causing damage.

It's a shame.

Apart from the worrying defending of set pieces we were outstanding last night, who needs Thierry Henry when you've got Wayne Rooney!!!

If we could just sort out the defending at set pieces then we have a great chance of winning this tournament.

Im torn between wanting Germany to get through the groups, just so we could put them out of the competition. But Id then be concerned that somehow Germany might get a little better and a little lucky and go on and win it.

Erm... and the Portugese. England spent the whole game defending way too deep again - it was only a metter of time, although admittedly the disallowed goal was a shocker.

If i were you I'd blame Linneker though. All that "the next game will be tough without Rooney" nonsense at half time. Talk about tempting fate. Same old same old.
