| We are trying to add a user to exchange 2003 so they can acces their email. We have already created the user account with password through active directory. How do we add the user. We have created the user in the exchange directory but we don't see his created mailbox, he isn't in the disribution list although we haven't added him to the list, and Exchange features didn't save (permissions, mail types info). | |

| Hi there, I know that you will not actually see the Mailbox in the Exchange system manager until you either access the mailbox for the first time or send an email to the mailbox. The active directory prepares all the details for the mailbox and submits them to the Exchange server upon first use. Once this has been done you will see the mailbox in the System manager.
Not sure if that answers any of your questions, I know that the various Server account rights and Global Address updaters, RUS service (?) etc get rather involved and I wouldn't be able to give you much help here I am afraid. I know we had issues getting the user to appear in the Global Address list, was down to getting the updater service running every 2 hours to update.
