I would have posted this in the Exchange 5.5 forum, but it doesn't seem to be getting much traffic these days, so I posted it here instead.

Seems Microsoft has developed a fix that allows the person administering an Exchange 5.5 server to control whether NDR's are sent out. Prior to this fix, there was no method available other than 3rd party software that was placed in between the Internet and the Exchange 5.5 server.

For those that are interested, you can find out more by going here.

There is one small caveat to getting the fix, you need to call Microsoft to get it.

The other caveat is you have to have an ancient email system.

Exchange 5.5 ?!?!?!

Are ur clients running Windows 95 or 98?

I would agree, but it is not my decision to make. Corporate IT makes that decision and I have to abide by it.

Yep! Corporate is thinking about moving to Exchange 2003, however it seems to be a really slow thought.

Unfortunately some are and I am in the process of rectifying that. Sometimes it isn't easy to convince management that a system needs replaced or have a newer OS installed.
