I'm just curious if what I heard is true.. is there such a thing as being able to get unlimited user licenses for, say, a copy of Windows 2000 or XP, so that you can install it on as many computers as you want without it being piracy?

I know that there's an internal version of 2K (and presumably XP) that's like this, but wouldn't anyone outside Microsoft themselves who has it almost guarentee that it's a pirated version? I've never seen or heard of those being available outside of Microsoft.

FYI: This info isn't for use at all (I'm not a pirate) but I heard something from a friend and wanted to find out if it's true

Thanks in advance

Businesses can become part of Microsoft's Select Agreement. This allows business to install Microsoft software on any PC, however they have to buy enough licenses to cover this (they do get them cheeper). MS will occasionally require audits to be done to make sure that the company has purchased enough licenses to cover all their installations.

There is no umlimited user licence.
