I have a user with an external USB Iomega Burner......he wants to create word docs and chhose save as and burn to cd...this isn't a problem with CD-R's but it won't work with CD-RW's, I always thought this was the other way around. with CD-RW's he gets he has no permissions to the folder!! But the cd burner is shared with everyone full access and I even added authenticated users full access, still no joy...not a problem for CD-R's but it won't entertain CD-RW's!!!

Maybe the software only will allow packet writing and the disk is not formatted. Often the packet writing software fights with the normal burning software, especially on XP. You may have to disable the packet writing stuff.
