| Ok, for those of you who complain this site is going to the dogs, answer the above question. Better still, give an example of a good thread, or bring one back to life.

| What constitutes a good thread?
Freedom of speech according to certain members on here or so I've been told, at great length, numerous times. . . . .
Letting people say exactly what they want and not being responsible for their actions.
Yes, I am baiting certain people. It's not like they need an excuse to complain though.

| Here is an example of an extremely poor thread. Note how the poster gets treated by some of the other members in the forum. He finally got his question answered but not before venom was spilled. Wouldn't it be better to just ignore a thread than to spew venom all over it?

A good thread should be:
Supportive, contain good information, be helpful to others.

| The question that seems to get asked once every few months. I remember starting one myself and gave the Comptia answer later on in that one, as I had been asked the very question in my exam. | |

| one that elicits participation and cranial activity...
one that answers the questions everybody seems afraid to ask...
establishing connections with remote computers, disconnecting unwanted connections selectively, monitoring connection volume and content, selectively routing through proxies... I would imagine its a long and very interesting list once it really gets examined.

| A thread on innovative solutions to problems. It is really exciting to come up with techniques to deal with things that you did not read in a book. |
