| How do I remove an uninstalled application from my add/remove list in control panel in Windows XP operating system?
I had a program installed and when I tried to remove it, it failed see. So I used my search egine to find all its components and removed it that way but its tag remains in my add/remove section.

| The item I am trying to remove is G-Lock Spam Combat
Enforcer,
How do I incorporate that into your equation and delete accordingly?
Also how do I backup in case I fluff up?
Don't wanna do anything silly do I? Like you said, be careful out there.
Sorry about the below posting. Site wouldn't allow me to delete it.

run regedit
expand each branch until you get to the end
you should then see a list of installed programs
look for your 'G-lock Spam Combat'
highlight it.
if you are worried about screwing up then select registry-->export registry file
give it a file name and click save
you will then have a file called <filename>.reg
if after doing the next step you decide that you deleted the wrong bit just double click that file and it will pop it back.
now with 'G-lock Spam Combat' still highlighted right click and select delete.
Good Luck. | |

just install TweakUI and it has a window that removes entries from the "add\remove programs" in control panel.

Don't tell him to install another program, he'll only ask how to remove it in his next post.

| Take a look here too. I don't know if you are using XP or not, but if you aren't, the method will be similar. The above link also backs up what Enforcer suggested to you earlier about the registry. | |

| Went there and did it eventually.
Enforcer,
Don't get mad.
Your advice was helpful but I found Johnspec's link much easier to follow.
Thanks regardless both of ya...
