| Haven't been around for a while so forgive me regulars.
Got an irritant problem.
How do I prevent Internet Explorer opening up whenever I click on a link from my mail reader despite having other other internet browsers set up as defaults for me?

First of all, what program are you using for your mail reader and second, which browser are you using for as your default?

| (I am going to do my best to hide my embarrsassment here for not replying for such a long time)
I use Incredimail (www.incredimail.com) as my e-mail reader
&
MyIE2 internet explorer (www.myie2.com) as default.
I am having to copy and paste my links to make things work out in my preferred explorer.

| go to internet settings in control panel
click on programs tab.
clear the check mark at the bottom of screen labeled
"make IE my default browser."
now there should be a setting in your preferred browser that says make this my default browser.
that should do it. | |

| Take a look at the software offered here. The one that might do what you need is called SetBrowser 1.4. | |

This is exactly what I have been looking for.
It's read-me does state that Outlook Express will open up Internet Explorer no matter what.
Just tried it on my e-mail reader, Incredimail.
Still does the same thing. Opens IE in some places and opens my other default browser in others.
Oh well, I'm gonna reboot and see if that continues.
If it continues, I am gonna have to remove that program, then put up and shut up.
J-spec, did you go through all that trouble to find this program for me or did you just know it was around?
Thanks for it either way...

Well... I found your post intriguing enough to search out a solution based upon what you had said. I had seen programs like it in the past, but had not really tried any of them out. The one I pointed you to was one I found that day by searching Google etc. |
