| Hello all, i am new to the forum and had a question for you. I am currently in the USAF. I am a Tech-Controller. I have a Secret Clearanc and the investigation for my Top-Secret is underway. I have 2ys left and i want to get out. I have no certifications but plan to have my bachelors degree by the time i get out or at least be real close to it. I am currently working in an Infrastructure shop. I install and configure switches routers, bridges..ect. I also do patching and install CAT5 lan drops. All my experience is in LAN Networking. I'm curious to know if i stand a chance in the job market if i get out. I will have approx. 2yrs exp in this field and hopefully an online degree from Grantham University in Information Systems. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated | |

| Military experience is highly prized by employers. Be sure to be as close as possible to your Bachelors degree when you get out, it is a big selling point with employers. It is impossible to predict an IT job market two years from now, there are too many variables to guess at. | |

| If you already have experience installing and programming routers and switches, the CCNA shouldn't be a problem. I would try to get a few Cisco certs over the next few years.
When you get out of the AF, you'll be in a very good position. |
