Hello ppl! Glad I found this site bcos every1 here seems intelligent.

I got an old Athlon motherboard that takes Pc100 SDRAM BUT I bought PC133 512 Ram for it and my PC only uses 256 of the RAM. Is it because it is not compatible or has my machine busted.

First off, check your motherboard manual.

It could be a couple of things.

A number of the older motherboards only support memory banks up to 256MB of RAM. Likewise, some PC133 RAM does not function well/at all with PC100 specs (ie: Kingston ValueRAM).
