the US is one of the most lenient countries in the world when it comes to free and equal trade with other countries.

unfortunately some countries take advantage of that fact and china is one of the worst ones. it is estimated that 90% of all goods out of china are counterfeit. and most of those goods appear to come to the US.

now china is trying to tip the trade balance a little more in their favor.

China to Talk With U.S. on Semiconductor Tax

BEIJING, March 26 (Reuters) - China said Friday that it had agreed to talks with the United States about a tax Beijing imposed on imported semiconductors that Washington contends gives Chinese producers an unfair advantage.

The United States started a complaint with the World Trade Organization last week over the 17 percent value-added tax China places on semiconductors, the chips that power electronics from cellphones to supercomputers.

these days with the US struggling to keep jobs in the country, i doubt that dealing with trade restrictions will help the matter.

Old news.. We set import sanctions against the Chinese a few months ago for flooding the market with televisions as a start...
