Me too--okay, so here it is:

Weighty matter: Dear Smiley: There seems to be a conspiracy in the laundry detergent industry, in cahoots with the garment industry.

Two weeks ago, I had no trouble wearing my Levi's. Now, the waist has shrunk considerably!

I can only attribute this to the detergent industry adding a "shrinkage" formula to their products.

I'm still perplexed as to why this "formula" only affects the size of the waist, and not the length of the jeans.

There's some kinda problem with long URL's. Somebody posted a link to an ACME-longURL-shortomatic-convertor type thing at some point but I can't be arsed searching for it.

NEvertheless, however, and be that as it may, the conspiracy mentioned does exist.
