Thats .xxx top level domain name for those who aren't familiar with the term.

It is a revisited idea for all porn/sexually related websites. Instead of a .com or .net etc... it would .xxx

Hmmm...on the surface, it does sound like a good idea to people like me, but I'm sure someone will have a downside to it, and I'd like to hear it. I agree that there are educational sites that have anatomical drawings that would undoubtedly fall into that category, and that would be bad. Perhaps some sort of .xed or something like that to indicate material of that nature? I mean, we really don't want things to be difficult for people who have worthwhile things to offer our kids, but it would make it a lot easier to filter out pornography sites. I'm sure lots of folks feel porn is worthwhile and I'm not going to debate that issue, but I've never been able to grasp WHY the porn industry, not to mention the ACLU, don't want parents to be able to filter out stuff that is inappropriate for kids, or for noninterested parties to be able to filter it out. I'm not more likely to visit their site and buy access to it just because they find their way into my browser. Am I in the minority on that?

does that mean the film xXx could have the website www.xXx.xxx if it put in a few pictures of naked babes?

that's obviously the problem that many opponents will have with it, and that's where a good idea always goes bad. Here in the states the idea of "zero tolerance" sounded like such a good idea. but now we have a six-year-old getting suspended for bringing in toy GI-Joe guns (one-inch solid plastic guns for use with the GI Joe toys, no moving parts whatsoever) and the kid who ratted him out gets an assembly and a certificate of award; a little girl getting suspended for using the word "Hell" in a geographical context and the little boy whose language evoked it from her being applauded for his tattling. Those examples alone are enough to make me wonder at the wisdom of something like this. We're obviously too stupid to exercise common sense, so we opt for zero tolerance of everything.

Trouble with common sense is, it's not all that common amongst people.

It would be if it were more required. With all sorts of authority figures taking away autonomy and consequences, nobody can figure out that bad choices have bad results, and good choices have good results. Nobody can distinguish the line, they don't even know the line exists because they've been ordered about so much they've never had to spot the line.

PEople become idiots becuase we let them.

I think it would be a good idea. Personally, I find most porn sites a nuisance and would be glad to see them removed from the normal domains.
