The photo was sent to me from Michigan, and to my Michigan friend from somewhere else...it originated in Halifax.

ah michigan i should have known that they would be involved somehow.

i went to high school in michigan and my dad's side of the family all come from michigan and canada.

i used to have a picture of my grandfather shovelling his driveway. he lived in Hancock which is located in the upper peninsula next to wisconsin.

he is standing in the picture in a path about 2 feet wide with snow going up past the top of the picture all around him.

they also have a door on their old farmhouse that opened to nothing on the second floor of their house. this is the door they used if the snow got real bad.

needless to say, a month after i graduated high school i moved to california!!
