| Hello,
Ok, I have plenty of experience behind me but PartitionMagic is killing me.
I have 2 hard drives
Master: 40G running XP
Slave: 30G running 2000
ultimate results:
being able to boot between them.
When running PartitionMagic/BootMagic, the program only sees the master and not the slave. When I run install another OS, the only drive PM sees is the master drive.
Does this make sense? please help me, private message me, anything. I refuse to let a program frustrate me which is why I am askibg for help.

| Partition magic is a great program...but you shouldn't even need it...you could even run both OS on one Hard drive.
Here is how i did it:
Install Win2000 first, lets say, on Drive C.
Format both Drives in NTFS, then install WinXP, but leave the Drives intact.(without formatting again).Make sure you give your Installation folders different Names, like for Win2000 C:\WINNT, and for XP D:\WINDOWS, that should work out just fine.
On one of my Machines, i have one 200 Gig Hard drive with two Windows XP Installations---WinXP English and WinXP German in a dual-boot config, works like a charm.
Installed in "C:\WINDOWS_ENGLISH" and C:\WINDOWS_DEUTSCH"
I use PM only if you have only one big partition and want to create multiple partitions for other stuff, or if you are planning to add Linux to the Drive.
Have Fun! | |

| I had loads of hassle with Partition Magic 8, I could never get the dual OS wizard to work, it would always leave the system unbootable when I installed the second OS. The only way around it was to partition the drive and point the install at the second partition, then it works fine.......the dual OS Wizard seems to screw the boot.ini file.... |
