| Hi guys,
I will be having an interview tomorrow for instructor position and i am in a panic and having stress also. This is the first time i am giving interview for instructor position .
The insitute has said that they will see my presentation skills only i.e they way how i do communication and presentation. I had prepared a small lecture but i forget the things whenever i do a practice lecture in front of someone. I had given lots of technical and HR interviews (not for instructor job but for purely technical job) and i was never nervous like this.
Need tips from the people who had faced this situation allready.

| Just relax and try to get a good nights sleep. Now is not the time to be worrying. You'll do fine! | |

| Forgetting your presentation points is not good. Remember the three rules, tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, then tell them what you told them. Sometimes as a wrap up tell them why it was important (lead in to next lesson).
Do a shallow depth presentation. If it is too detailed then they will spend too much time in the subject and away from you. This is not a good thing. You do not want someone to even sub-consciously think "I did not understand a word he or she said".
Pick something that can be grasped easily. Explain hexadecimal, explain the use of a router, describe conceptional Ethernet or token ring or the early history of the INTERNET. Anything where your presentation skills remain the focus and not what the hell are you talking about.

| When I did my teaching demo I was also a nervous wreck. Try to keep your thoughts organized as best you can and be sure to make lots of eye contact. Speak clearly and answer questions clearly and you will most likely get the job. Try to be a little entertaining as you approach the group, it helps break the ice. What ever you do, don't let them see you sweat... | |

| Thanks for your response guys . These tips are really helpful . What maximum could happen ? They can deny to give me a job never mind i allready have a good job with the title "Network Engineer" .
By the way i am preparing Frame Relay Presentations (not in depth) slides on my laptop and i will ask them to use it during the class (i would prefer not to be shown on the projector) or i can have those presentations on the paper what do you think ? SO like this i can turn the pages around and move forward step by step

| it is nerve racking but if you slip up, make a joke of it.....nerves are expected but once you start you will be on a roll, starting is the hardest part.....another lesson I learnt was when I had to do a five minute presentation on Active Directory....make it ten minutes, double the time, you speak a hell of a lot quicker when you are nervous.......loet us know how you go, perhaps once you've finished you could pass tips onto us.... | |

| I think so it was superb. Training dept. manager was busy so 2 ladies from HR department came and saw my presentation . On the whiteboard i wrote the agenda and started explaining my topics(by giving examples of the networks running currently in kuwait). When i was in the middle of 2nd topic they stopped me and i asked them there are still other topics need be covered but they said this is enough we just wana see your presentation skills and during this conversation training department manager also came.
I told them that i have experience on this this and this company network so while teaching i can give the students examlpes of netwoks running in Kuwait which will get students interest on the subject (training dept. mgr. agreed with me on this comment)
And then they asked me some HR related questions. They told me they will send me for different courses which includes CCIE lab training also.
At the end i asked them how much time it will take before you reach a final decesion . They said it takes from 1 day to 2 weeks, but in your case it will be 1 week
And at the end they told me i need to have a meeting with their GM also(looks like the had choosed me but i have to wait for 1 week atleast)
Thank you everybody for your tips and support. I really appreciate your time and effort spend on this thread.
