| My computer is currently set up on a home network. I have file sharing enabled but would like to set a password for allowing other computers on the network to access my files. Basically, I want other users to enter the correct password before using my files, programs, printer, etc. I was able to do this easily when I was running Windows ME, but I don't know how to do this on Windows XP. Anyone know how to accomplish this? Thanks. | |

| Which version of XP do you have?
What will the clients be running? | |

| I have Windows XP Professional. There are two other clients also using XP Pro and one using Windows 2000. | |

| First of all you have to disable simple file sharing (folder options).
Create a group (computer managment>local users and groups) how will have access to the shared folders, create the users (computer managment>local users and groups and put them into the group, share the folder and set the permissions to allow the created group to have access. |
