preventing multiple print jobs

| One of the lab techs at my university asked me if I know of any utility/software that will prevent users from sending the same print job several times.
It's the classic case of a student pressing the print button 12 times because they think it makes the document print faster.
Does anyone know of a tool that will automatically kill multiple print jobs?

| The only thing I can think of is User Education.
or a good smack around the head for persistent offenders.
I think it would be quite difficult to have something like that.
The utility would have to look at each print job and make a decision as to whether two are the same and to delete the extras. But what if the user, as I do,wants to print an excel document ,which to get the page printed more than once it sends a seperate print job for each page?
However if you find something, let us know | |

| What about having your printer objects print to file? Then train users to print from there.
If you can train a user to go their virtual server drive instead of locally to save info, it wouldn't be a stretch to teach them that. |
