Hereīs the thing. I push the button to turn the computer on and everything seems to be working just fine, except the computer wonīt start/boot and the power led wonīt come on either.

All the fans and everything else work fine. I am a little puzzled. Could it be the power supply is not generating enough power?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

By any chance, the power connection on the motherboard wouldn't happen to be loose would it?

Also, what form factor is the mb and power supply?

No post beeps, no nothing. Thatīs the weird thing about it. It simply does not boot up. You canīt even hear the hard drive. You can see motherboard led on, the cpu fan working and just about everything else.

Had the same problem once with an ASUS mobo. LED light on the mobo was on, cpu fan would spin, but nothing else, no post, etc..

It did in fact turn out to be a defective mobo.

Yep, a bad mobo would be my guess.

did you try to remove the Bios Battery and wait for two minutes then replace it.
Just make sure you ground yourself before you touch anything inside the box.

Better to try this before you guys have him go out and buy a new M-Board.

Sometimes the Bios gets srewy and this amy just work.

just my 2 cents.

Hmmm. I have a computer at the house that has the same problem. I thought it was the mobo, but never thought to try checking the BIOS for this.

That never has worked for me. Neither has taking it a step further and replacing the battery with a new one or a known working good one. But it doesn't hurt to check I guess.

Worked for me twice

Meant the difference of having to replace the M-board and all components.

Like spid said though it is not always the culprit but it never hurts to try to save an extra $50-$100 bucks for a m-board.

AWESOME!!! Put me down for one. I tried this on my mobo that I was saving some $ to replace, and it worked. You saved me almost $450.
