Author MCSE Question...

Does the MCSE not cover subnetting? I was talking to a friend who is MCSE and he didn't have clue how to subnet. He knew what subnetting was and what it was for but didn't have a clue. He was even more confused when I started talking VLSM.(yeah I threw that part in during the discussion so I could feel smart by making him feel stupid) I don't know if it is just cause he likes little school boys or if it is because the MS exams do not cover that subject in any detail. I start thumbing through the MS Press books for the MCSE 2k books I have and I didn't see anything on it. Perhaps I just ate to many paint chips I do not know but the sky is not blue on mars.

I don't recall ever running into VLSM (Variable Length Subnet Mask) when studying for my MCSE. I think I first covered VLSM when studying for Cisco.

I had one question on VLSM and a few on subnetting. It is possible to pass the test without it probably. And that really disgusts me.
